Hot Gimmick Love Triangle
The first time I ever read Hot Gimmick I thought wow Ryoki is a jerk and I can’t believe that Hatsumi would let him blackmail her for something as stupid as a pregnancy test. As an American girl of this fast paced day in age, I found the blackmail reason to be silly and out dated.Anyway, the story still held my interest as to how far would this girl go to keep the secret. So, there I admit it!!!! That was how Hot Gimmick got me first hooked to reading it. Oh yeah, I almost forgot the guys looked totally cool.

One thing that has puzzled me is how the Manga writer might end the story. I assumed after reading the first volume she’d ended it with Hatsumi and Azusa as a couple. But we quickly learned that wouldn’t be the case after later volumes. I would have never guessed she’d have Hatsumi fall for Ryoki that through me for a loop. There relationship as I mention before in another post reminds me of Makino Tsukushi and Domiyoji from “Boys Over Flowers” they had a love/ hate problem like Hatsumi and Ryoki. Well moving on now in new issues of Hot Gimmick we see a third contender for Hatsumi heart her adopt brother Shinogu. I find him to be the complete opposite of Ryoki in every way. For some odd reason I think the Manga writer made Shinogu the opposite of Ryoki to show us a different view of what love can be like. As for Hatsumi herself, she seems to be a very confused person with to many guys in love with her. I don’t know why but I think if Hatsumi does end up with Ryoki then their will be a long line of Hot Gimmick books on angst problems in future volumes. One more thing have anybody else also wondered if Azusa still holds any romantic feelings for Hatsumi?
